Over the last 6 months, we have held school interaction days at a number of schools across South Wales, including:
Garnteg Primary School
Whitchurch Primary School
Llanedryn Primary School
Jubilee Park Primary School
We have teamed up with the NFB (National Federation of Builders) for these days, with each session consisting of a brief introduction to construction and the varying roles within the sector, getting the children to participate with tools and high-vis jackets! We then spilt the children into groups to construct tetrahedron shapes, emphasising the importance of team work to come together and build a giant tetrahedron.
Whilst this activity was taking place, each child got the chance to use BIM Goggles. These are virtual reality goggles, used within the construction industry to visualise a building; enabling changes to be visualised before the construction phase has commenced. Think it’s safe to say, the children thoroughly enjoyed this part in particular!
