We have been invited to build the first Maggie’s Centre in Cardiff on the site of Velindre Hospital in the North of Cardiff. Maggie’s Centres are places where people can access various cancer support in a non-clinical environment, and the buildings are specially design by award winning architects to complement these services. This building is also a striking design and consists of a timber and steel hybrid frame covered with Corten Steel Cladding (rusty appearance). Inside the main feature is douglas fir triboard walling and large glazed windows with views onto the garden, and the centre area has a wood burning stove with a Cwtch.
